Adopt a Better Globe tree

Trees are the foundation of the entire Better Globe charity concept. Adopting Better Globe trees are good for many reasons. Tree planting is especially important for life on earth, and planting trees is not only profitable but also creates jobs. Better Globe plants the trees at its own plantations in the semi desert, where almost nothing else can grow. For each Better Globe tree that is adopted, 5 trees are also donated by Better Globe to be planted in the Philippines, by an organization with interest in saving the environment.

For each Better Globe tree that you adopt, you will know that you are helping to prevent desertification and making it possible for people to live and survive where they live, which means that we can work to solve and prevent many of the challenges that we face in Africa every day.

When you adopt a tree in Better Globe, you’re automatically become a kind of “owner” of the tree. Locally employed workers are hired, who are thus offered the opportunity to have a job in areas where no other jobs are available. For many of them, this is the first time in their lives that they have been offered a permanent job with a salary. They can stay with their families and actually live where they want to continue living. Better Globe’s workplaces and plantations also create other jobs and income opportunities for people living nearby.

The life cycle of a Better Globe tree

Your adopted tree is planted and cared for by Better Globe for 20 years. The trees are managed on a commercial basis and eventually sold as timber. The life cycle of a Better Globe tree can be simplified as follows:

Year 0:

You adopt the tree at 1000 PhP. The tree will be planted in Kenya.

Year 1-4:

The tree is cared for by Better Globe Forestry. www.betterglobeforestry.com

Year 5-19:

The tree will yield fruit, nuts, gum arabic, oil, or other products, depending on the species we have planted, over a period of 15 years and the tree provides a harvest, which is given to the person/organization who adopted the tree.

Year 20:

The tree is felled, the timber is sold and the one who adopted the tree will get according to an estimated timber harvest which, if all goes well, is believed to be approximately 10 times the adopted tree value the 20th Year.

The above life cycle is profitable and self-generating for the business, which allows Better Globe to share some of the surplus from its activities over 20 years, with the people who adopt trees.
This is why the system has been called; “A sustainable charity system that pays interest”
